Important Announcement from the Superintendent
Dear Parents and Guardians,

We recently had a situation occur in the High School which was captured on video and distributed. Be assured, we take any kind of harassment, bullying, or hazing very seriously. We are continuing to investigate and deal with the fallout of that situation. I want to personally reassure you that your child’s safety will always be our top priority. When we receive information, we act on it; this includes investigating rumors, issuing consequences, and/or mediating conflicts in an effort to avoid larger issues. In order to do this most effectively, we need communication from our students, parents, and community members. If you are aware of a problem, please call an administrator or counselor with the details.

The best course of action is to prevent issues before they arise. However, preventative work often goes unnoticed by those not directly involved; fights that never happen and disagreements that are peacefully resolved do not become public. Often times when there is a conflict, we tend to find out afterwards that someone (a student, parent, grandparent) knew of the issue but didn’t report it. I encourage anyone to make that phone call or seek out a school employee that can help prevent future incidents.

Again, I want to stress that information that is given to us will receive immediate attention. When you report something, we will act. Although privacy laws will prevent me from telling you our specific course of action, I will be happy to let you know that your concern was addressed to the best of our ability. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the district.

Sincerely,
Eric Schnabl
